"It All Started with a Question"

Back in 2022, I was working in B2B, but I also wanted to start something else, something more aligned with who I truly am. During my morning meditations, I would set the intention: What do I love? What feels natural to me? Then, one morning while driving to work, the answer just… there. Like a flash of light: “EARRINGS.”

I love earrings. I have always loved them. And that morning, the excitement I felt wasn’t ordinary. It was the kind of fire you feel when you receive divine confirmation. So, as I usually do when inspiration strikes, I moved.

I shared the idea with my sister Sandrine. We decided I would start by sourcing unique jewelry from Europe to resell. And then the name! I had no clue what to call this project. But in a conversation with my other sister, Rita (may she rest in peace), I told her I was stuck. She simply said: “What about ZVET?” And just like that, ZVET was born.

"Always in a Hurry"

I like to call that period “Always in a hurry.” It was a season where I was rushing, trying to act like others in the industry, trying to blend in. And deep down, I wasn’t happy.

I knew I was on the right path, but somewhere, somehow, I got lost. So I paused. I gave myself the space to breathe, to reflect, to reset. I stepped back, focused on other projects, and quietly meditated.

It’s always interesting how, before stepping into a new season, life brings you through what we call a season of isolation, which is really a season of breathing, resting, sowing seeds but our ego often refuses to see it that way. And it was during this quiet time that I had a revelation: ZVET is an extension of who I am.

But then, who am I? I faced myself. I asked: Where do I want to go? What do I truly love? The answers were clear: I love art. I love stories. I love creating. I love writing. And I love earrings.

"Creativity Has Always Been My Language"

Anyone who knows me knows this: creativity is a part of me. I’ve danced on stage, organized spoken word events, and immersed myself in theatre. I’ve always expressed life through creative outlets.

So, how do I combine all these parts of me?
That’s when it clicked: ZVET is a fusion of art and storytelling.

Through earrings, we tell stories. Every design, every line, every curve is intentional, symbolic, like a piece of art. Each collection is unique, limited, and not restocked.

Everything starts with a story that transforms into tangible art.

That’s why each collection is a continuation of the previous one, a reflection of the ZVET woman evolving. We witness her journey, her growth, her becoming, through every piece she wears.

"Why Ubuntu?"

I was first introduced to Ubuntu by Maryse, founder of ASANTII and PINK UBUNTU. She shared her projects with me.

I looked back at my own story, and it made perfect sense. My life has been shaped by people sowing seeds of love, kindness, and grace. Even the ZVET story itself is the result of the community: from the name, to the first stock, to every piece we create, it’s not just me. ZVET is being carried by a village.

ZVET is for those who express themselves in everything they do, the ones who live boldly, love deeply, and speak through the art they wear.
